Hi Guys and Girls,

After the last SPlat update Sonar crashes when opening an existing project - 'SONARPLT.exe stopped working. Problem event name BEX64'. Anyone else had this problem? I can create a new project no problem but cannot load an existing project. Tried winding back to previous versions of SPlat but the problem still exists - crashes instantly. Any ideas?

Thanks

Phil

If you google BEX64 you will see a shed load of issues for all sorts of apps.
Look like to me it might be C++ libraries issues.

For starters please make sure windows update (inc optional updates) is up to date.

Cheers...

Ya know, that's weird as in Gloucester I had a hard startup error that google posts said were because of DEP being on, which after all was inconclusive whether or not DEP was a factor as ultimately hand cleaning and reinstalling fixed mine. In the tomshardware thread that was solved: apparently, that was a DEP issue.

Just sayin.

You will notice all over that thread they are recommending updating C++ libraries as well. So anyway there you go... Over to OP.
Ta.

Doktor Avalanche,

Thanks for your reply. Appologies for my tardy reply my day job is taking all my time at the mo. All windows updates are up to date. I've read quite a few articles on BEX64 and tried scans and multiple restore points, none worked as far as the problem goes. Don't know much about C++ so at a bit of a loss there.

I'm beginning to think my problem maybe resourced based, maybe using all of my RAM. This one project is very big and using many instances of PLAY amongst other things. Will experiment on the weekend and post.

Thanks again for your input.

Bitman,

Thanks your reply. That's interesting, I've read some posts on BEX64 that suggest the problem can be solved with turning DEP on! I've cleaned the registry etc and have the latest SPlat update, wind backs to earlier versions didn't help. How can I do a complete re-install of SPlat, it's all controlled by command centre and a reinstall is not an option. I was beginning to think my problem is resource based but this problem only occurred since installing Gloucester.

Cheers,

In your (hidden) c:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Command Center\Downloads are all the downloads CCC downloaded to your drive over the 6 months we have been on the Kool-Aid.

SONAR_Platinum_UP6_Setup_21.6.0.25.exe is the July update. You can just run one of those to get any update level you want reinstalled.

You can also do it from within CCC but this seems faster sometimes.

That's sensible advice as that could reinstall the libraries. I keep forgetting it's much easier to reinstall Sonar nowadays.
