If you do have IO problems on the day of and are at risk of losing tape, consider using RME DigiCheck for the recording.

I would contact to Sound Company doing the gig and ask them to record it. Most will do this for a very reasonable fee and they will have the proper interface and ( Mac Book) all ready to go.
