In fact, a lot has changed in the new PRV. But this is generating some problems in my workflow. I would like to know:
  1. No more pick tracks? I now see ALL the tracks (including VST). Even though I only select a midi track, I always get all of them. This gets in the way.
  2. Two-tone Color-coding of sharps/flats: I can not see any difference between flat and sharp as explained.
  3. How to display multiple controllers? The option is inaccessible:
Is there any better documentation about these changes? What is explained so far is very weak.

Yes, it bothers me that audio tracks and the audio part of inserted synths shows up in the PRV...Unless there is another way to filter these out I have not figured how.

I would use the filter if it worked ...
How to filter something? There is no documentation about it.
You do not have any option to filter anything except "add all tracks" ...
And even if the filter worked, it's a much harder way to show just a few tracks in the PRV, right? The idea is that the workflow is easier, not more difficult.

What would be the purpose for having audio tracks in the PRV, considering PRV is ONLY about editing MIDI (unless I have missed something basic)?

It seems to me that the user should not have to filter out things that have no reason for being there in the first place.

For the different colors - it's more subtle than you would think and it's the background colors not the note colors
Like this (calling these blue and beige for lack of a better description) - using your screenshot #3:

Eb blue
D   white
Db  blue
C   white
B   white
Bb beige
A   white

I hope that makes sense.

So, I was half way understanding the 'filter button'. Figured it out and actually appreciate it. Another goodie is being able to mute audio tracks from within the PRV, this will enhance workflow.
Thank you and a thumbs-up to Cake-Bakers.

So, could anyone please explain me how to use  the filter button or anything else to see just some tracks in PRV?
