Pre / Post : This control allows you to decide whether the signal will be sent to the bus before or after it is affected by the track's fader (Solo, Mute, Input Echo, Phase Inversion, and Automation included)

A) (Solo, Mute, Input Echo, Phase Inversion, and Automation included) -----This is confusing me !

1) can someone please clarify that all of these will not go through on a pre send ? So the pre send level on the pre send is before A)
If not
2) can someone please explain this because iam confusing myself with many different scenarios .

-I realise that a tracks pan does not go through on a pre send
-I realise that solo and mute can be changed to follow track / pre sends by changing the / LinkPFSendMute=1 in AUD.INI (Edit > Preferences > Audio > Configuration File > Edit Config File).

Thanks

maybe this will help

As you can see in the above photo, a send can be pre (before a tracks M/S, Fader and pan) or after.
On buses, a send can be pre or post. IE- Before or after the output volume, M/S, as well as output pan.
The best way to digest this is to study the diagram.

I follow that diagram as it is very simple to understand ,however I was reading a article :
At
https://www.cakewalk.com/...9/Advanced-Bus-Routing
Just under step 3 :
There is a section called / send features :
which states the normal !Send Features ! However I noticed :

Pre/Post Fader This control allows you to decide whether the signal will be sent to the bus before or after it is affected by the track's fader (Solo, Mute, Input Echo, Phase Inversion, and Automation included)

So then I got confused at (Solo, Mute, Input Echo, Phase Inversion, and Automation included)?

Anyways I have just tested this out fully and phase inversion and automation are included in the send signal in either pre or post , the only truth was the input echo which makes sense because without input echo or a loop you got nothing .

I think maybe cakewalk should change that , or maybe I am reading it all wrong . Thanks

Although this documentation (the link you posted) still applies in some ways...
The tutorial photos shown appear to be from sonar 5 ( almost 10 years old) many changes have been made since.

hope my previous post helped.

Thanks for illuminating the chart, Chuck. It's in the format I can understand.  Maybe Cakewalk can do some updates.

Your welcome guys. Agreed about Cakewalk needing to update some of it's documentation.
