P 5 runs better now on the machines I have today then what I had when I first started using P5
It is also pretty nice that a lot of the plugs , synths and 3rd party gifts I got w X3 play nice with P5 ….

this message was brought to you by a guy who was born in the 50's who happens to play a guitar that was also designed and perfected in the 50's who prefers to play out of a Fender amp that was made in 1966 …

It runs like crap on my i7 4790.  Maybe hyperthreading is the fault.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having that type of experience running P5 on your machine ..

For me the big issue is memory.  You can't run Addictive Drums and NI Rickenbacker and Vintage Keys at the same time.  I tried jBridge, but it would lose the instruments I had loaded.

Well this necro bump is only 2 months old.  Glad to still see folks still talking about P5.  Still use my old P5 box as a stand for my audio interface.  It's been crystal clear all these years that the program clicked really well with folks.  Evidently it didn't click business wise which is too bad.

I know a number of former P5ers including myself moved on to Ableton Live.  If you're up for a little learning curve, Ableton offers a very nice workflow IMO plus many, many other advantages.

Hope everyone is doing well.  Looks like the old P5 refugee forum finally bit the dust for good.  Everyone has scattered to the winds.

Not everyone.  I still have a couple of your songs on the playlist.

I have taken the "East West" library and re-voiced several of my old P5 songs and, what a world of difference. I love P5, as you all know, but the changing of instruments sure made a huge difference, and a whole new try at using P5 more. I am going to try and use the library in real time and see how it all works out.

yeah P5 was awesome.  i don't have it installed on my pc because it is a 32 bit program, and i quit using all 32 bit music software years ago.  i ended up going with a combination of Maschine & Sonar Platinum, but i am pretty sure that if Cakewalk put out an update to P5 (multi-core & 64 bit) i would use that in a heartbeat because Native Instruments has proven itself pretty lazy when it comes to Maschine development, still very clunky!  Too bad Cakewalk can't just outsource the coding work necessary to update P5 for today's modern PCs

I would love to see an updated P5 ...
