Cakewalk user since 1993. Composed music for tv and film with Cakewalk Pro Audio since 2000. Had to upgrade to Sonar Pro after hard drive fail last year.

Issue: I can not BELIEVE you took away "Audio View"! What were you thinking???  With Audio View, you could select your desired tracks, and they would open in a separate, independent window for editing. You could, for example, select tracks 2, 7 and 15 they would open in their own window, neatly displayed as 3 tracks, where you could edit, line-up beats, peaks etc to your heart's content.  Do you have any idea have valuable that is?  Obviously not.

Yes, you can still zoom in on audio from the main screen, but you disrupt your view settings, and yes, you can save this zoom setting and that setting, but it can not compare to Audio View.  The ability to view selected, non-adjacent tracks as its own view was a vital feature composers really used!!  I may be wrong, but I do not see how to perform such an edit on Sonar Pro.

Please, bring back "Audio View", the single, most useful tool that helped launch my career!!

Thanks

I would like to see this again. Or some way to quickly and easily select a few non-adjacent tracks for editing in one view.

Currently I might be the tracks together to go this and then have to move them back. I don't like using the track manager to hide/view. Though maybe if the track manager was more readily available as suggested elsewhere in another feature idea then that might help (see http://forum.cakewalk.com...spx?m=3486651&fp=1 )

One can maximize a track to fill the entire track view by double click on the track header and reverse the maximize to normal by double clicking again. This is effectively the same as audio view which was dropped when Sonar replaced Pro Audio. However, there is no destructive editing as there was in audio view. It would be nice to have but I have not missed it all these years.

No way.
We digitize tapes and vinyl. We edit, restore and cut the whole day audio.
The today presentation of the audio tracks is the absolute best Cakewalk could do.
I think it's the fastest audioeditor. And I have testet a lot. And I also know the old Audio View.
Never again.
