Looking at the cheat music, I think I have found out the geniousity behind the arrangement:
 
He is obviously seeking a counter effect of trying to make the bass, tenor and alto kill themself in this short song. The tenor and alto - singing only fifths, and unison - will probably not make it through the whole 9s song. The bass singer will probably survive because only sing roots isn't shocking enough for a bass singer.
