It's refreshing hearing everybodies take on it. Especially the usb3 part with the powerswitch. Me like. Tho the puter does not have usb3. It does have Esata. Maybe I can make use of that somehow.
 
I came across this external enclosure. Wich seems suitable for me:

One advantage of using SSDs where the budget allows besides their speed is that 7200rpm HDDs are noisy and SSDs are silent. They also draw quite a bit less power and there's no need to worry about keeping them cool, which can mean fewer or slower fans, whoch again means less noise.
