Hi Guys
Not really sure where to put this so have put it in Computers and Software.

I have an old (but almost brand new!) Mac PowerMac G5 – purchased it about 10 years ago for some projects, that turned into one very quick project, and then basically never used it much – I have a version of the Korg Synth package on here and use it as a “synth” occasionally.
But really it’s not getting used – looks fantastic and works perfectly.

Is this worth upgrading (if indeed it is possible to upgrade operating system / ram etc) so I can purchase and use Logic.
I really am pretty ignorant re Macs having been a PC user all my life.
Full Spec
Mac OS X v 10.3.9
 1 x CPU
1.8 GHz (Powermac G5 3.0)
1 GB DDR Sdram
512kb cache on CPU

All / any advice gratefully accepted!!
Cheers
Nigel

This seems like a fairly sluggish machine to run an upgrade on. Probably makes a great synth.

If it were mine I wouldn't bother. You could probably use it with older versions of Mac recording software.
