I received an email regarding ending the automatic discount and referring to a "NEW SONAR PRODUCT LINE"  I've been with since the Commodore 64 and been the every other version buyer.  So I'm checking if my status quo has been disrupted.  Can you explain simply (like to a fifth grader) what is your plan?

The way it came across is that after May 1, 2017, members that have been with you 4-EVER, have to pay full price.

Help me understand, I've just been jamming in the back of the bus.

Musically,

If you are still on X3 or older, Cakewalk is giving you the rest of this month to purchase an upgrade at a discount. After that, there will be no discount to upgrade from X3 or older.

I guess you missed my point.  Tell me the company is not deaf.

Not bitter, yet.

Curious what version of Sonar you currently use - and also what version you had that might have run on a Commodore 64...

Maybe try actually stating a point?

Hi Brando,
X3, MS-DOS, way back then, it was only MIDI; but I loved it.

Cakelive for DOS was rock solid - and had the best clock timing! I wonder what I would think if I could run it up now?
Sorry - off topic reminiscences.

Hi. If you upgrade after May 1st, you do not get a discount for previous products.
That is the way I interpret this.
All the best.

Platinum has been here for more than two years now. Considering Sonar usually updated yearly, it's about time for your "every other version" update. Platinum is not a static product like the previous Sonar versions were. New features and fixes are added continuously, practically every month. So since they have been doing that now for two years, there will be an end to the discount for previous versions.

So true. Is it really so outrageous after two and a half years to draw a line under discount upgrades? Given the speed of releases that's an eternity in Sonar years:)
