Hi. You could turn snap to "move by", and Ctrl+drag to new location.
All the best.

Finally I understood what "Snap By" is, because I always used the "Snap To".
Thank you very much Zargg!

A basic operation doubt: in Track View, if I have a clip that starts, for example, in 1:03:123 and I want to duplicate it so it also appears in 1:04:123, or 5:03:123.
What is the easiest way?

I do this all the time. It takes two seconds after you get the idea.

1. Decide what you want to move, copy, delete etc. That means - do you just want a clip or you want to move an entire section of a song? Like copy the whole verse one to insert in as a verse two. If you just want a clip or clips you should think "track" or "tracks" and if you want a whole section you should think "all tracks". Then consider from when to when. For example, copy from 1:04:123 to 5:04:123 ( four measures, but a non clean start time). Meaning in this case you want 4 measures of stuff (a clip or a whole section of the song) to copy to some location elsewhere in the song.

2. Example: you want to copy a portion of a clip from 1:04:123 (end time say 3:04:123, aka just 2 measures of the clip) to a starting point of 5:03:123. So you want to copy 2 measures and put it 4 measures further in the timeline.

3. To do the above:
a. Select the whole clip or the whole track. Make sure it's highlighted as selected.
b. under the Edit menu choose Select By Time.
c. For Start Time put 1:04:123. For End Time put 3:04:123. Click okay. Now you have surgically selected your clip and exactly what you want from the clip.
d. Alt control C. ( Copy Special). This allows you to determine if you want anything more than just the events/audio.
e. Alt control V (Paste Special). This allows you to specify exactly where you want to place the clip and on what track. Enter (for this example) 5:03:123. Voila the copy clip is where you want it!

This explanation took a couple minutes to type, but actually doing it takes 2 seconds - especially after you've done it a couple times.

Yeah, all of this, or simply...
1) Set Snap to "By"
2) Ctrl+Drag the clip to the desired location.

Interesting mix of methods.  The 'move by' is only going to work for exact-by-bar duplicates.    I have 'select by time' mapped to a shortcut key, and then use it -- maybe this is why I don't think 'clip' for midi work, rather bars and beats in the track.   The only thing using select by time:   a copy-paste works fine, but a cut-paste operates differently: your selection will suddenly change on a cut (the begin and end points change to match the time of the first and last actual event in the selected range).   Why this should be so is another of those sonar mysteries; it makes doing repeated work on the same selection very annoying and error prone.

So, select by time, copy (or copy special), set now time, change track if appropriate, and paste.
