  • [Solved] Can't group and edit tracks as one

Hi

I've recorded an acoustic guitar with two mono mics onto two separate mono tracks.

I'd like to work on one clip but cause the other to be edited identically - eg split, slip edit, draw crossfades, move selections and so on. Everything that I can usually do with a single track.

I've been able to group faders, but not group tracks for editing. Didn't Sonar once have a simple "Group" command when right clicking on selected tracks? I can see Create selection group from selected clips, but it's not doing anything for me..

We're using Sonar Platinum 22.9.0

Many thanks and kind regards

Could try bouncing the 2 to a single stereo track and edit that. Pan HARD L/R
When you've done, if you want, bounce back to split mono.

Have you made sure you are (clicking to select the clips) on the clips themselves ?
I know it might sound like a stupid question but I have to ask.
Also make sure the clips don't belong to another group.

Hi Jonesy. Hi Chuck. Thanks for the suggestions lads. Much appreciated.
I seem to have solved it however.
My problem was how I was (not) selecting the grouped clips.

The Create selection group from selected clips command was correct.
But then it's important to use the mouse carefully:
If you hover the cursor over lower half of a grouped waveform and click, you will only select that one clip/track. However, if you hover the cursor over the upper half of the waveform, the I-line icon becomes the Move tool icon and clicking now will select all clips/tracks that are grouped.
Any edit done on that clip will do the same to all the others.
Be sure that your clips all have the same group number. It's possible to have differently numbered clips in the same track.
As always, easy when you know the answer..

Happy egg-hunting ;-)
