I'm beyond frustrated.
 
I'm running Plat 2017.01. Win 10 latest version.No new hardware. Due to home renovations I wasn't using my DAW from Sep 2016 til Jan 2017.
 
Every now and then when I try to save a project Sonar just locks up. The title bar goes gray and I get ZERO response. Needless to say it just ruins my mood to continue. I have to re-boot and restart Sonar.
 
Not sure I need to supply any more details. This project is all audio. No MIDI tracks at all.
 
Any ideas appreciated.

I have more info:
 
Generally when I do additional work I do a SAVE AS then SONG--TK01, SONG-TK02, etc.
 
That's when it locks up. On a straight SAVE (overwriting the file using the same file name) I have no issues.
 
I've never had this issue before.
 
Added: It does not lock up the entire PC just Sonar. I have to kill Sonar using the Task Manager and Sonar will not re-load unless I reboot.

I use Save As all the time and I have used it a number of times today.  
 
Have you checked your hard driver for errors?

I hadn't done that but just did. No errors reported.
 
I've been using SAVE AS many times with Sonar. Never had an issue. Not sure what the issue is. I only use the pc for Sonar work.

could also be a plug in. If sonar can not save the present state of the plug in it might cause a crash on save over write.

I'll try to remove all plugins and see what happens.
 
I did copy my projects to another drive to eliminate the possibility of drive issues. I had the same problem.

I removed all the plugs and it works as advertised.
