You can create an audio track by playing back your MIDI track(s) through the Korg and recording the output to an audio track.

You can't use the Korg TR as a softsynth, if that's what you mean.

I'll assume you have a project file with a MIDI track that you can playback on your Korg.
In your project with the MIDI track:
1) Arm an audio track to record.
2) Make sure the audio out(s) from the Korg are connected to your soundcard's input(s). The USB port is for MIDI data only, not audio.
3) Hit record. The MIDI track should play on the Korg and Sonar will record the audio output from the Korg onto the audio track that you armed in step one. When its done, unarm the audio track. You should see the audio waveform in the track.

That's all there is to it.

The Korg probably has at least 2 mono 1/4 in. phone jack outputs. Usually the ones you want to use are marked 1/L and 2/R.

If you are using the built-in soundcard on your computer, it probably has a 1/8" stereo mini-phone jack. (This is one good reason to get a better soundcard. Most good audio interfaces have 1/4" phone plug jacks.)

So basically you need what is called an insert or a Y cable. It has a 1/8" stereo plug on one end and (2) 1/4" phones on the other end like this.

Sounds like you don't have much experience with this type of application. For now, start slow. Get the onboard sound working first and then once you get the hang of it, consider getting a better soundcard. You have to walk before you run.

Thats probably good advice, ill just go with the Y cable.

I use Sonar Professional,Triton extreme and Scarlett 2i4 ( Audio & Midi interface).I recently bought a Korg Miniloge and use as Midi interface MIDIMAN. Scarlet now works only as an audio interface.Now I have no way in Sonar to transfer MIDI files to wave.
