you don't need to show all tracks or scroll through 100 tracks, use the filter button to only show the tracks you want.
3 different place to mute/solo, true... but who wants to keep closing the PRV to mute/solo audio tracks in the track view or Console view ?

You think so?  I should have said, 100 midi tracks.  so a filter button (I think -- have rolled back so can't check) doesn't help much.   And yes, I have 4 monitors active, so I never have to close the PRV to mute/solo audio tracks .. in fact, I can't imagine ever wanting to do it, since the PRV is for midi tracks, and solo/mute for audio tracks is not ever relevant, at least how I work.

Well unfortunately not all of us are set up with 4 monitors .
Sounds like a great set up William.

But yes, the filter will let you decide which tracks show up in the PRV track pane.
you can even create presets to show 8 tracks of this... 8 tracks of that...exc..exc..
hope this helps

With that reasoning, why not put more things in the PRV too?    You could already solo/mute any RELEVANT tracks in the PRV.   Now you have a minimum of three 'very handy' places to solo/mute all tracks: track view, console view, and the new PRV.   Is that really so valuable as to make the PRV's special nature dulled?

William, very well put, I totally agree! This is something I've tried to communicate in this forum as well.

I'm running dual screen, with the Track View always visible on the left screen, available for mute/solo at all times. But I realize not everyone runs dual screens though.

I really try to embrace changes and new workflows and the new multiple controller lane seems really nice! I am very hopeful that Cakewalk will continue improving the PRV!
