  • New PRV: No more hotkeys to hide/invert/show tracks?

From what I notice in the new PRV version, I'm tied to mouse, because the hotkeys A, H, V no longer work. Is that right?
That is, what was to be easier to use, became more difficult.

You can re-assign these to whatever you want in Preferences. Under Area, choose Piano Roll View and scroll to the end.

These hotkeys are already there. But they do not work anymore.

I stand corrected. They were unassigned when I called up Preferences (for example H now calls up the Track Manager). However assigning them to new keystrokes did not do what the older shortcuts did. This doesn't seem too serious to me for the reasons given in the other thread - I find selecting what I want to edit pretty simple.

I know H calls up the track pane when focus is in the PRV.
but when focus is in the track view; H calls up the track manager.
Could  A and V be the same ? (A matter of where focus is).

Right.
Would you tell me, for example, how to associate a hotkey to select all the tracks within the PRV, instead of using mouse?

I think the only way to select all is double-clicking on any track number.

Ok, so once again, a few steps forward, many steps back ...
Things I do not understand that go bakers' minds ...

With any change, some people will be happy, others won't be. Reactions range from yours to this single change has convinced someone to stick with SONAR. I really don't know how many users need not to be able to see one part out of many, compared to making it easier and more foolproof to select what they do want to edit. As I said in a different thread, I suspect this will follow the same arc as the comping improvements in that this is about "phase 1." If enough people vote up a proposal to restore some of the "view filter" capabilities, and it can be done without disrupting attributes the majority of people want, then that increases the odds of those kinds of changes happening.

Personally, the new paradigm is much better for the way I (and apparently many others) work with MIDI. But I understand that not everyone works the same way.

Craig,
At your leisure can you please perform a test for me?
Does clicking on a visible midi note in PRV still set that track as the active track
and also highlight that track on the right side track list?

Thank you!

Never mind. I found what I needed in an other thread.
