If I select and audio clip and ask to Process-> Apply Effect, Audio FX and MIDI FX are greyed out. Now the MIDI bit I get, but Audio?

Thanks for any help here.

Shouldn't there be a Clip FX inserted in the clip first, IIRC?
I interpret your question so that you're going directly to Process.
If you have an FX in the track FX bin - I don't know if you can apply that to individual clips.

Just as a point of interest, why would you want to destructively apply Fx to already recorded audio when you can easily insert your Fx plug of choice into the Track or Clip Fx bin and tweak away with it until it's perfect?

AH. I did not realise that, because I assumed I was going to be just using FX other than the plugins.

Thanks for replying guys.

I take your point, but I did not realise that was what I was doing. Just trying things out, and I got stopped.

I think process .. apply effect does work if you have a range of audio selected. Usually a complete clip.

Hey yeah I realised _that_. But unless you have an FX in the FX path for that audio track, nothing can happen, as I now know . I assumed I was going to see another menu or drop down list of FX.

I agree that processing the track destructively is the wrong way to go, when you can actually render the track right at the last, with the FX included as Jonesey said.
