It is a little disconcerting, though, that whenever I "bounce to clips" I have to reset the colors because doing so reverts the clip to default colors. That should be fixed.

I don't think that's a bug, soens. Imagine when you combine two clips that have different foreground/background colors and different names. Should Sonar bring up a dialog box asking you which colors and name the new, bounced clip should inherit? If so, I think it's a feature request. I don't know how many of the other DAWs handle this, but Studio One shows the same behavior as Sonar.

How about just bring back the color preferences for "Track 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc... Background clip!

Panup wrote today at his sonarmods.com site that he probably wouldn't even have a chance to look at the new Sonar for implentation to Duckbar until Summer.

NOT happy with that.

Well, I'm not against the idea of bringing back the option to specify a default clip background color for the track as long as the link between the colors of the track header, clip foreground and PRV notes is retained. But, even the option was brought back, the behavior soens considers an issue would still be there. Let's say you have red, blue and green clips in a track whose default clip background color is set to red. Now, what should happen when you merge the blue and green clips? Which background color (and name) should the merged clip inherit?

Why do I have clips of different colors in a single track? I usually have several groups of linked clips in single track and being able to give different background colors to different groups helps me identify which clips are linked to which clips. And I can also easily identify which clips aren't linked at all, because they have the default black background color.

On the plus side, the grey-on-grey contrast seems to be much improved in SONAR 2015.

im not sure what the issue is, it takes 2 seconds to change it in the inspector.

.

did you NOT read this thread at all?   The Inspector clip color option sucks.

Maybe you sould read your first post in this thread, before you shout at others for not reading the thread.

Having black clips everywhere kinda sux.   Before Sonar X3 you could adjust the background color of a clip, but X3 removed that.   I wish when coloring a track, it would change the BACKGROUND, not the FOREGROUND (notes).

You say that Sonar X3 can't change backgroundcolor of a clip, and that's not true.
I agree that we should have had the option in the preferences also , but as several people here have said: The colors can be changed in the inspector.

Checked Platinum's preferences and there is no option to permanently select a clip background colour. You can set the highlighted track background colour permanently, but it doesn't appear to have an all clips background option.

Unless I'm missing something?

If you select a background colour in the inspector and then bounce the track, it still reverts to the default.

That should be one of those bug fixes that Platinum members get to pay for while the Professional members are left to suffer.

How about a concierge and a tip jar so Platinum members can get the luxury treatment?

Hope you're just kidding around Mike. If not don't be a jerk please.
