#1.  The minute you bounce a track, it goes back to black again.

I think this is the fourth time I say this in this thread. The clip background color going back to black is a normal, expected behavior and I explained it clearly (Did anyone answer the question I posed in post #35?). The only problem (at least for some people here) is that X3 removed the option to specify a default clip background color for the whole track.

I suggest you post a feature request if you haven't. Those who need the option back will give you +1.

The problem is not originally well stated, but it is a problem.
Yes - you can use the inspector to change the clip colors.  And you can even select all the clips on a track and change their colors.
BUT - everytime you record, the new clip colors do not go along with what was selected for that track.
There needs to be a TRACK color option for the background that STAYS for the entire track. That would save a lot of time and hassle.  Is it hard to do?

Hi Jlien X,

Yes exactly.  I'm having to post the same thing in this thread as well.  Yes, I will make a feature request. I haven't because I use Duckbar, but I don't want to rely on 3rd party apps anymore.

This is TRULY amazing...  it goes to show most people don't actually read the threads  before posting.

First I just want to say that I agree that we should have back the option in the prereferences...

But your original post #1, claimed that it was impossible to change clip colors.
I responded, and told you that it was possible.
You said that it wasn't true, and asked for a screenshot (did you think I was telling a lie?) (post#9)
Then in post#10,the word "PREFERENCES" came into the game for the first time in this thread.
now that changes everything.
If you had written this magic word in your first post, a lot of misunderstanding could have been avoided.
And it could have saved you and others a lot of time (and frustration).

So please stop the rude and angry attitude and take a look in the mirror

fair enough.  to be honest, in my original post I actually didn't know about the Inspector.  I tried it, and then realized it's not a good enough option because of the reasons I stated earlier.

Sorry if I was rude.  It was just getting frustrating reading the same things from multiple people (even after I stated how the Inspector wasn't good enough - and people were still replying "INSPECTOR"

Again sorry.

Yup! and until Cakewalk adds this feature back in, I'm staying with Sonar X3 and my Duckbar config :)

Yes, that certainly needs to be fixed.

I believe that it would also be useful if there was an option for clip colour to follow track colour.

Me too.

And I have no wish to re-engage into a "colors aren't important" peeing match because they ARE important - if they weren't there wouldn't be so many people using Duckbar for years now without errors.

Hours spent in front of a DAW should be both visually as well as audibly pleasing.
