...wicked
Windows just installed some updates and now SONAR is crashing on me. My default project loads but another crashes with an error in the "CompPkgSup.DLL" module. I think I'm gonna try and roll-back the Win update and see what's what but figured I'd ask on here to see if anyone else has had this problem?

that sux, i have only recently let my machines update to the anniversary version after all the dust settled, and disabled updates again, prior to that i remained on 1511 or something for many months. only let it update after the guinea pigs have had at it and the dust has settled, i'll only let it update every 6 to 12 months, if that.

Interesting . . . I've just spent the last hour wrestling with, and undoing the last windows update which made me think I had a virus or something, since many programs (including Sonar) and my Edge browser were not acting properly . . . now I go to the Sonar forum and the first thread I see is about the last windows update ?

Sonar is running well after the update undo, but I am now nervous about this last Win 10 update which now wants to update itself again . . . I think I'll turn off the windows update service until I can read more about it ?

I chose to not install the "feature update" that I believe was being delivered, in stead just taking the security release. Sonar is fine for me.

My typical plan is to wait 3 weeks after patch Tuesday, then take a complete disk image first, before applying the Microsoft updates.  If I see problems, then I will restore the most recent image an wait for MS to issue revised updates.

Hopefully by waiting for the initial 3 weeks, MS will have made the necessary fixes.  This way I stay up to date, but lag slightly behind, while the unwashed masses beta test the latest updates for me

ha ! . . . now why do I feel like a member of the "unwashed masses" . . . when I'm more of a "pioneering windows update beta tester"
