Hi Everybody - This is driving me a bit nuts...

I'm currently using Sonar X3 Studio.  I'm trying to record a track with some guitar swells.  I'm using IK Multimedia Amplitube 4 in the track FX bin.  The pedals I'm using in Amplitube, in the following order, are Compessor, Overdrive, Volume pedal, Delay.  I'm controlling the Volume pedal via MIDI from my Behringer FCB1010 foot controller.  All seems OK.

I practice what I want to do and things sound good, my swells are quite swell.

When I arm the track to record, the output of the track no longer responds to the volume pedal control.  I'm still hearing the swells out of the Master, but what is being recorded is not swelly.  All the other effects are affecting the signal, just not the volume pedal.

Anybody out there have any thoughts?

Thanks

John

Hi, This might be obvious (and not even of any use), but is Echo Input enabled?
All the best.

Are you recording the MIDI as well as the Audio?

Thanks Guys
1) Input echo is enabled
2) No I'm not recording the MIDI

have you tried using http://www.azslow.com/index.php?action=downloads
to see if the controls you want sent, is actually sent?

Thanks...I'll give that a try...

Hey Ken - that didn't help.  I'm pretty sure that the MIDI is all aligned.  I must be missing something on the audio side of things...

I need to bump this post...I tried to contact Cakewalk support, but it seems that they no longer support Sonar X3.

Update - I was able to use Amplitube as a standalone and route the output to a Sonar X3 audio track.  My recording was very swell(y).  Still...I don't really want a workaround...

Just a thought....

Does the volume pedal work on the recording pass-through as you expect, then not on playback?

If so, either recording the MIDI it sends or enabling an automation lane for the volume pedal so its movements are recorded as automation might be worth trying.

tlw - thanks for the reply.  So the issue is that the pedal doesn't work on the actual recording.  Everything is fine before I arm the track for recording...the input meter for the track performs as expected - the signal on the track meter follows the "swell" of the pedal and I hear the "swell" through the monitors.  However, once I arm the track for recording, the pedal is ignored...in the recording.  Even if the pedal is in the "off" position, there is full signal there.  So, when I hit record, I do not get the desired effect.  What is interesting are two things:
1) The other effects are there (compression, overdrive and delay).  Only the volume pedal is ignored.
2) I still hear the "swells" through the monitors, it is just that the "swells" are not recorded...

I'm not recording the MIDI data - it is a MIDI pedal controlling the volume within Amplitube - but I didn't think that would be necessary because I'm trying to record the audio coming out of Amplitube, and in reality, 3/4 of the Amplitube audio is being recorded (compression, overdrive, delay).
