I like and prefer the list view recently implemented in the "Recent Projects" area in the Start Screen.
It would be nice to also have the list view available in the "New From Template" area as well.

List view yes! Also seems like there is enough room for two lists being displayed at the same time. Maybe recent projects on left,  templates on right? The goal should be least clicking to get what you want.
