Forgive my ignorance, but my recording machine just simply needs a rebuild so I must reinstall SPLAT and all my VST add ons again. Is there a FAQ or there on how to proceed?

Nothing against Bandlab, but I am happy with SPLAT (as is) and have lost my taste for "new and improved" anything in computer music after paying for phantom lifetime upgrades.

Nothing has change WRT installing Platinum www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=Introduction.30.html

The Cakewalk Command Center is the easiest way to install Platinum. Save some time and copy the installers into the CCC Download folder if you have them saved somewhere.

I just did that. I do have all my exe's downloaded and saved. I used CCC for the newest Splat exe and the rest I installed from my backups. Smooth either way.

seeking confirmation. Can I download Platinum (yes, I own it) and keep it somewhere for further use? I have it installed on my computer but don't like the fact that something I paid for may not be available someday in the future. This has probably been addressed. Forgive the intrusion.

The installers should be in your Cakewalk account and in the download folder on your PC, if you used Cakewalk Command Center to download. Regardless of the install method SONAR must be activated.

thank you. Still not quite what I am looking for. It is activated and installed. But how do you download an actual copy with all libraries, etc. to keep for further use. All I see is an update section and I of course am already running the latest which was sometime back.

After X3, Cakewalk broke up the SONAR installer into several packages such as the main SONAR installer (actually two files with the main installer updated every month - each update along with the most recent core was a full version of the DAW without most of the bundled content), Artist Instrument Collection, Classic Creative Suite, Engineering FX Suite, etc.... Along with the new version of SONAR every month, various installers were updated over time. A few plug-ins were dropped such as the old LP series removed from the Engineering FX Suite and replaced by the L-Phase plug-ins which ultimately received their own installers. IOW, there is no single installer for Platinum and all of its content. There are also pieces bundled with SONAR Platinum such as Rapture Session, Dimension Pro, Rapture and the L-Phase plug-ins that are totally separate products listed separately (because they could be purchased separately) in your account and the Command Center.

wow Scook. I am sorry for taking so much of your time. My question is, are the actual Sonar Core Program exe
installers available for download? I do not see a download option. Or, am I to assume that Sonar Platinum as it is will always be available for download in the Command Center and I am making much ado about nothing? Are you possibly saying that I should have kept my old downloads? I guess my concern is that one day the folks there will decide to no longer make it available. I am a happy lab user but would like to be able to open up my old projects in Platinum as well.
