The pan events have never been linked to the pan slider in the track view. If moving the pan slider is important convert the pan events to automation. Automation does move the pan slider.

OK.  Thanks.  It isn't particularly important. I was just trying to learn how the new PRV works. I guess the answer is that most of what you see there has no effect at all, but the new PRV is a much cleaner way to manage the basic controllers like velocity, modulation, and sustain pedal.
