Hi. I installed Sonar x3A build 209x64 on my laptop Asus X54C. I recorded my midi tracks to a audio track using the Roland UA1G
USB interface I installed the latest driver for the UA1G. I used the Roland 5080 digital output to the UA1G digital input. It records but it produces pops and clicks. Not clipping, but tiny pops and clicks all over.
I recorded an audio track using the UA1G in audio mode. I get pops and clicks by the millions.
I tried the different drivers MME and ASIO. I tried lowering the gain. I tried different mics. I tried recording directly into the mic input of the computer. I use the audio clock so the tracks are synced.
Does anybody else have this problem? Is is caused by my laptop?
I tried everything except a better computer. Are the pops and clicks coming from the radio noise of the laptop?
There are no pops and clicks sampling the mic throughput, only in the recordings.
Before I spring for another computer. Is there a known problem here?
Thx in advance.

I would use the ASIO driver and the latest version from here:
https://www.roland.com/global/support/by_product/ua-1g/updates_drivers/

To narrow down pops and clicks, turn off any wireless devises on your laptop by going in to devise manager, locate the wireless network card and choose: Disable. This can easily be reversed after recording/ testing is complete.

Try a medium buffer rate to start and see if this takes care of the problem on playback.

Also another culprit on laptops is the Battery Management also  found and disabled in Device manager.
Run Latency Monitor to see if background issues are causing this.
Roland Interfaces seem to be on the list of problem child interfaces these day's so as Chuck said, make sure you have the drivers up to date and that match your OS. ASIO for sure.

Also make sure your using a USB port that is supported. USB 3.0 does not always work with some interfaces.

Also, I believe X3 was patched to the E level.  You might try to get the latest patch.

Solved. I increased the buffer size in recording. That fixed it. I also downloaded the latest driver for the UA1G and that fixed another problem.
Thx All
