Apparently it's "not possible" to produce software that doesn't require fixing to some extent, so I guess CW will always have something to do.

In case they ever DO figure out how to produce 100% bug-free software, then there will be a Windows update with a glitch and...

I am not going to join the chorus that an application cannot be made too big or too complex without the potential for complications as a result. Software can certainly be written so that the larger the program the more the demands on a system, but typically the software is modular, in that it calls for what it needs as it needs it and divides up the tasks more or less evenly among the resources. Still if a program offers enough simultaneously active modules it can create problems, imagine a thousand open applications competing for resources. And the possibility of internal incompatibilities increases if the program just increases in "complexity," even if the active "size" of the application is not huge.  If anyone believes it is as simple to maintain a million lines of code as a thousand, jump in here. When there are problems with maintenance, they typically express themselves as bugs. And even a flawless application, as Anderton suggests, can often be made so complex that the user experience suffers.
