Now, I'm trying to record a bass part, MC6 is not giving me an option or choice of a recording device in the Audio device screen. My playback is set with the EMU setup I made, the Driver setting is ASIO. I have signal from my bass into the EMU, but nothing into MC6 or in the Patchmix. How do I set the recording device setting? Do I need another session set up in PatchMix or can I add an input strip to PatchMix?
Tired and confused.

That's what I hated about my EMU-0404 and patchmix. I never got to the point where I could understand it and work intuitively with it. The guys at EMU tech support practically knew the sound of my voice when I called. I finally got fed up and sold it. Got something easier to work with that didn't present a roadblock to my work process and creativity.

I would suggest since RobertB is knowledgeable about EMU and patchmix, that you PM him and set up a phone call and let him walk you through it. Take your time and make notes.

So do you have a separate strip in Patchmix for every input of your interface? And in that strip you need
to insert a send to SONAR/Host. There must be an output strip, Wave out,  as well, but only one is needed (haven't played with it for a long time 'cause there's been no need to). Once you set it up you never need to go there again, unless for volume settings or such. Different sample rates/bit depths require their own sessions, IIRC.

I now have strips for both inputs on the EMU Dock I have a Recording Device in MC6, EMU line A or B I have signal to the Dock, No signal in the Patchmix or to MC6. I have tried different in's and out's, sends, and still no signal, except on the dock itself. The manual with EMU is written in a language I don't understand, I guess it's time for ???????????

Can you post screen shots of your preferences and of an expanded track view (showing the track's properties)?

Thank you everyone for your help and advice. I am moving on from this and getting something more in my league. This unit is now for sale if anybody is interested, or know anybody that would be interested. Reasonable offers accepted.

I think that is the way to go Like Guitar hacker said.....

It should not be that difficult....
Sorry cannot help in knowing anyone who wants that thing......But there is always eBay!!!
maybe your best solution......

If you were going to want inexpensive sound card here my very first one was a Tascam 1-22 (I think that is the number) Now they are up to the 144 series.......I know a LOT of the guys here did not like them but it worked perfect for me!!!! I set it once and away I went.....

I gave that unit to my nephew (who I do not think uses it) and I am really sorry I gave it to him....
Now I use a Edirol FA 101 that has ASIO and it runs really really well......so I think everyone here is trying to steer you in the correct direction.....

Just my 2 cents
