Hi folks, this is my first post here. Well here goes, I got Music Creator 6 Touch for my birthday recently (yay!) and have been enjoying it thoroughly. Amplitube CS though has stopped working (don't know what happened) and is reported as a missing plugin - I've checked the plugin directory and it's still "there" (the .dll file). I have also gone through the process of re-installing both Music Creator 6 and Amplitube 3 CS and still have not found the fix to my problem.

Can anyone help, or have any of you had a similar predicament with this plugin and/or others? Thanks in advance, guys. I'm relying on y'all for help.

you don't need to reinstall. You need to register.
 
Amplitube needs to be properly registered with the IK servers. And then you need to be sure Amplitube is in the audio FX list. If not it needs to be added through the plug in manager and then once it's added, run a plug in SCAN.... and you should be good to go.

I have registered the program - did that before it stopped working. I can still see the plugin name on the FX browser, and when it does give the error the plugin is in my FX list on my track, but no go. Here is what the error says:

Have you tried rescanning your VSTs (Preferences-> VST Settings -> Reset All VSTs then SCAN VST Folders?

Yes, I have done that several times as well. Every time I reset the plugin database Amplitube 3 CS shows up in the list of plugins (in the FX browser, also the drop-down menu of Track FX) but the problem is still present.

Does this happen in just one project or does it happen in all?
 
Can you add Amplitube to a new project?

That's the first thing I tried - I've tried opening the plugin in new projects but I still get the same error.

did you reinstall MC or do any windows registry changes recently? your screen shot shows me a situation that happens when the registry name / ID has changed for the plugin.

I suggest first you try to do a windows restore point back to the point where you first installed MC.

If that doesn't work, I suggest you do a complete reinstall. a complete reinstall will require you to delete registry entries in order to completely wipe out all information regarding MC, cakewalk and IK Multimedia before installing.

Thanks Beagle. I will try what you advised me to do. One question however - how to edit the registry to remove all traces to the programs?

There are some instructions in a thread somewhere I could try to find, but IIRC those instructions were for MC4, so they probably don't apply any more.

If it were me, I'd just search the registry for "music creator" and "cakewalk" and delete those entries. But be careful and make sure you back up your registry before starting.

You might also consider contacting cake support, I know theycan walk you thu registry clean uninstalling.
