Hello

I have the Sonar Platinum version and I thought that Addictive Drums 2 Producer Bundle was included.  It is not showing up in my VST2 folder.  Is it called something else?
Thanks in advance....

Thanks

The Cakewalk Command Center does not install AD2. The Addictive Drums installer for SONAR Producer contains an rtf file called XLN_Audio_Addictive_Drums_Installation_Instructions_CC.rtf

The short version is you need to go the the XLN Audio site, create an account if you do not have one, download and install the XLN installer. Then use the AD2 code provided in your SONAR account (it is also displayed in the Command Center when this item is selected) to redeem your producer pack. One redeemed select and install 3 ADPaks, 3 MIDIPaks and 3 Kit pieces.

What scook said.  It's a quick process to register on the site.  The installer doesn't have the greatest speed in the world, I was stuck at about 1.1mb/1.5mb download speed, but I went to work after starting my download so it wasn't an issue.

One thing scook didn't mention is that you'll need to manually add the VST folder to the folders in Sonar, or at least this is what I had to do.  If you try to copy and paste the VST into your VST folder, the AD2 software will pop up with a warning saying that the VST is not in the right location and it won't function properly.  Not a big deal though.

I did not mention adding a VST folder because I installed AD2 into the default Cakewalk VSTplugins folder.

I could have had to do it because I bought my Sonar Platinum on Steam.

It's not Steam specific. Installers should give you the option for VST2s because there was no strict standard. This has been addressed with VST3.

In the case of XLN Audio it's set preinstall via the advanced tab in the XLN Online installer.

I recommend maintaing your own 'roots' for non-Cakewalk (Steam or CW) VST2s, one for 32bit, another for 64bit.
