Jones ~ The long-shot of my earlier post that got lost is that I still record the exact same way today that I did 15 years ago. Just a very cheap MXL V63M mic on my voice into a cheap Behringer mixer and an old Echo MIA 2-in / 2-out sound card. That mic is bright and very clear, so it works well on a muddy voice like mine. The guitar was just my Tele partscaster into an old V-amp 2. (I also like the V-amp Bass unit.) I still think those old Vamps and PODs work great if you EQ them right at the mixing desk by adding a lot of lows and lower mids.

Great tune/cover! Love the vocals, guitar and all the other goodies. At times you sounded like the King and at other times not. Nevertheless I was digging how they both blended together real nice. Nice work!

If I walked into a bar and your band was playing this, I would NOT walk out.  I think you will be able to contribute to the band's vocals just fine.  I like the guitar playing and the tone of the guitar.  My only crit is that there seems to be some weird timing issues here and there.  The drums are too much in a straight line or something.  Edits to the tempo map might enable the drumming to have a more human feel.  Or, maybe it's just me.

It's not the drums that are off-time. It's the vocals. There was a couple of spots where I forgot the next line for a split second, so I started just a bit late. It's not like is going on a CD or anything though, so I'm not worried about it. It's just a practice track.

Well, sounds pretty good for a practice track.   
 
The backing tracks are a bit static, but the guitar fits the style really well with a few slightly more modern variations thrown in.   While the vocals are a bit out mix-wise front for my tastes, they sound just fine here. 
 

I guess the consensus is that it's good enough for a bar band. That's all I'm after, so mission accomplished I reckon. Back to our regularly scheduled programming.
