Almost pathetically, sadly funny. Price is a bit crazy for something that is not being officially supported any more. If indeed it isn’t a mistake or an early April fools joke.

Wow! If it's not a mistake on the part of Guitar Center, that is VERY interesting. We'll probably have to wait and see. I don't want to get my expectations too high.

Maybe music retailers don't keep up with the news. I was in a music store recently, chatting to the store manager. I noticed a few Gibson-brand products on display and I mentioned something about the current state of Gibson. He responded vaguely as though he knew nothing about it.

I've seen this popping up several times on Face Book as well. Seems like something is up.

I think the price might be right from GC’s PoV. A number of people in this forum have said things like “Oh, I’m still using X1 [or X2, or X3, or whatever] and I so much regret that I didn’t upgrade to Platinum when it was still possible.” With GC still having a couple of boxes in stock, some users might just think that this is their last chance to upgrade to the last version of something they already know. And probably quite rightly so. Prices are all about supply and demand I wouldn’t be surprised if the demand in this case was larger than the supply.

But I’m quite sure it doesn’t mean anything more than that. If there were to be a happy ending to the Sonar Saga, I’m sure we wouldn’t be hearing about it through Guitar Center.

I wouldn't get my hopes up.
This may just be an attempt to dump a dying product onto an unsuspecting consumer market.
