I agree with your whole post really but I have no problem thinking Gibson could do something stupid or unpredictable or downright goofy.

I got the following reply from Guitar Center:
 
"I do see we have an estimated time when they will be sending us this item again. That would be on march 5th. It is showing that it is order-able and if you would like to get the item we will set an order up for you.

Which suggests to me that they don't have a clue what they're talking about. I am 99% sure that an automated ETA was added to the item without any human input, and the representative who emailed me doesn't have an effing clue about what's going on with Sonar. It's just sloppy stock management and typical of Guitar Center. I replied asking for clarification, but I'm not holding out for any coherent answer.
