So it has been playing up for a number of days now. It asked me to re install Addictive Drums. I did that now Addictive Drums will not load at all within the project and proceeds to just close down Studio One 3.

What is happening to Addictive. first it said it was not authorised and may be running in safe mode. Now that I have re installed it nothing seems to be working again.

AD is one of those I have to reauthorize after significant Windows updates.  You didn't happen to get the Creators Update recently, did you?

That's my only idea.

That's been my experience too. Even after some minor Windows updates I had to reauthorize all of my XLN stuff.

As in deactivate current activation and reactivate even if on same machine.

Studio One 3.

Not to be rude, but perhaps Presonus-SO and/or XLN support/forums may provide you some answers?
Cheers

First of all, check that you don't have two copies of Addictive Drums installed in separate folders on your drive.  Also make sure not to move anything after the XLN installer has put it in place.  The advanced settings in the XLN installer GUI will let you choose your paths, so use those to customize file locations.

Then run XLN Online Installer again.  It just updated to a new version, and AD2 is still working just fine in Studio One 3 Pro for me.

Make sure that the correct path to the installed plugin is listed in Studio One, and check 'scan at startup'.  If you encountered plugin scan errors, you can also 'reset blacklist'.

This was posted in the 'Software' forum, not the 'Sonar' forum.  Feel free to discuss any software other than Sonar here.

There are many of us here who use more than one DAW, and XLN was a bundled Cakewalk instrument for years, so yup, this is a quite a logical place to ask this question, and expect a polite response!

I will add that XLN no longer has a user forum, but their tech support is very responsive if you contact them directly to open a ticket.

It was a suggestion, as both have good direct support, and was not meant as impolite?

You might be at a crossroads here. I can verify that Superior Drummer 3 sounds better, and the new interface makes it even easier to come up with quick and good patterns for a song. I rode the AD2 horse for years and soooo appreciated it for its easy workflow, I know the attraction.

If you have a bunch of older, undone songs with AD2, it might be worth it to get it working again. But SD3's programming I think is even easier - you might consider just jumping over and re-doing the drums from those AD2 projects.

Your question is legit of course, been there myself.

cheers,
-Tom
