I can't believe I am still back here trying to accomplish this!  How does one delete measures?  Whether I want to delete 2 measures of all tracks at the beginning or 22 measures of all tracks in the middle, how is this done?  When I attempt to delete the measures even though all check boxes are checked in Delete Special after the measures/tracks are selected it just leaves a blank hole.

I will certainly take a look however, I not trying to move anything.  I'm trying to delete measures.

Check out the link again. He even posted a video http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3561918

I did check out the link.  I did see the video.  Either I am not understanding it or it is not covering what I want to do which is simply delete measures (and everything in them).

Yup... just tried it again and it leaves a hole.  What is mean by "lasso".  How do you do that.

also, the video is all over the place, it deletes, then it pastes then it mutes.  I have no idea what the video is attempting to show.

I simply want to delete all tracks within certain measures.  This is not tuff to do on a hardware sequencer.

lasso is simply left click and drag encompassing, 'lassoing' what it is you want to select, just like in the windows environment when you want to select something. there are known 'issues' with certain things in sonar regarding selection, cut/paste, delete hole etc, which when you know what to be on the look out for not doing, or doing, helps.

and by 'issues' i mean sometimes certain things are not achieved the way people may expect it to be, a lot get tripped up by copy/pasting, where the paste will end up anywhere but where they expect it to be, sometimes it's just not 'understanding' sonars 'ways', and other times it is purely and simply . . . um . . .  'issues'

select all, set range of the 1st 2 measures, hit delete. select all again, cut from (select) measure 2 till end.
Paste it all to measure one or wherever you want it.

Time you went to the Sonar Reference Guide.pdf and did the tutorials that will show you the basics.

Go to C:/Program Files/Cakewalk/Sonar X3/

select the smart tool (if you don't know what this is then its time to brush up on some sonar = this is not an insult, im just keeping it real).

1- Using the smart tool- left click and drag the range you want deleted (right in the middle part of the clip).
2- Press delete.

You are confusing me severely, because you say you just want to delete a section... but then say.. "It just leaving a hole".
Well yes, that's what deleting does .

So possibly there is a breakdown in communication of what you actually want to do.

Not sure how I am confusing you.  And no it should not delete a hole.  I've stated I want to DELETE X amount of measures and all content within those measures.  I don't want to leave a hole of empty measures.  I want the measures deleted.

Not sure how much more clearer I can explain it.

Delete hole has had issues that require data to be present for it to function. For sections that have no data, something must be inserted (slip edit audio tracks into the region, insert a bogus MIDI note for MIDI tracks). All tracks must have data for the "delete hole" to process them.

I forget offhand if that applied to X3, but didn't see anyone mention this above.
