When I open Sonar X1 I get the message: "There are no audio devices for the current driver model on your system.  Please go to Edit | Preferences | Audio | Playback and Recording and choose a different driver model". I've been using my Roland Quad capture interface without issue for months and then today I get this.

I go look in Edit | Preferences | Devices and its not even listed for me to select. The interface is working fine playing audio from all other applications in Windows.

What's up????

Hi. My guess is that a Windows update has changed your Quad capture drivers for Win generic ones. Have you tried re installing the driver?
All the best.
Edit: Didn't read that it worked in other applications.

Sonar's not seeing the quad capture.  A couple things to consider:
- Was the Roland quad capture device fully turned on / booted up before your PC booted up?  If not, reboot your PC and ensure the quad capture is fully booted up before the PC turns on.
- Is your Roland Quad Capture operating via USB?  Were any recent Windows (or other) updates applied?  This is unlikely, but some major windows updates include USB driver updates, so reapplying (the latest) Roland quad capture driver may resolve it.
- Are you using the roland quad capture driver or ASIO4ALL?  Sometimes there are driver sharing issues with multiple programs.

Hope that helps.
- Russ

There was a recent HUGE windows update applied to my OS a few days ago. The quad capture worked shortly after that but I'll reinstall the drivers and go from there. Thanks for the suggestions.

I know this is common knowledge but make sure the unit is plugged in, turned on and the port its plugged in to wasn't knocked out. Sometimes its the small things we over look. (Well, that's typically my story).
