I'm really challenged at the moment with my Sonar crashing all the time. I thought it was the latest update, but turns out not to be the case. Sometimes the entire computer just freezes, sometime the fault reporter come up with a fault in some VST and sometime the playback just stops with a noise blasting into my headphones. I have been working with this setup for a while and I'm used to Sonar crashing once in a while, but nothing like this. I think it happened at least 10 times yesterday. Only thing I can remember changing was updating Native Kontakt 5 on March 1st, but my according to my Windows programs view all Native products are listed as installed that date which I don't understand. I looked at Natives forum, but no one seems to have problems with it. I have tried exchanging my Akai ASIO drivers to ASIO4ALL, but same thing happened. Any ideas ? 

your best is to open the project in safe mode.
this will allow you to load vst's and keep others unloaded. this will help you eliminate if it is a vst issue.
the second thing, what is the message upon crash ?
this is critical in finding the root of your problem. next time you crash, capture a screenshot or write it down.
there also might be info in windows event that will allow you to see what is going on.
If you narrow it down to a plug in, then It could be a Kontakt library and not necessarily Kontakt itself.
I do know this, some kontakt lib's use heavy graphic / Open GL. if your not up to date on your windows updates, or graphic card updates that is a classic cause for the crash. even if its onboard graphics.
 
Some specs might help (Windows OS, PC specs.)

I think I might have found the problem. Looking at my Native download log, it seems that the Komplete Control was updated, too, so I changed all my instances of that plugin to the actual instrument instead and so far today after that, no crashes.
