tested 02 with a new load of my firmware/driver update for MOTU Ultralite mk4.  Loaded a lite and complex mix and things seemed normal.  I later noticed an issue after I tried to load a new plugin and it didn't seem to load.  The 'check on startup' scan seemed to work, but when I ran the full rescan, the scan module kept crashing... i had to remove the old LP EQ & MB plugs before the scan would continue to find the new plug.  It also didn't like scanning the cake Drop Zone and Tube plugs... Bitmap not found error.  After sending those plugs to the recycle bin the rescans were smooth.  Even excluding the plugs didn't keep the scan from crashing.  Good for now.

Just now updating my studio rig to 2017.2 from 2016.09
My experience right now is the VST Scan is hanging on VST3 dll's.
I renamed all that failed and re-scanned them one at a time; everybody is happy now!
I did NOT get the "dreaded" Audio/Midi setup screen (I am updating from 2016.09).
Theme reverted to Tungsten, I reloaded my preferred theme; annoying but all good now.
If I run into any "issues" out in the studio I'll let you know.

Ok troops.  Apparently, when this update installed my PreSonus drivers got corrupted.  Have no idea how that could have happened.  Nevertheless, after totally removing the driver and absolutely all traces or paths to it, I re-installed the drivers and all is well.  I did have to go back and delete a couple of projects that had recorded the noisy parts, but fortunately, I was just beginning both projects and had the original clean parts backed up.  All seems to be working fine now and truth is, I do believe that Sonar Platinum is loading a bit faster on some of my larger projects.  The only thing I can figure out at this point is that while the download was installing somehow the sound drivers were being used by something else and there in lies the conundrum of just how things got screwed up.

Bottomline:  Even though, Command Center still refuses to download any updates, I am still a happy camper because my daw is working smoothly once again.

Haven't used it much yet, only had one obvious bug so far.  JamStix plugin had a severe graphical glitch (entire box was white with an error message when it was in the multi-doc).  Couldn't get it to work, reset of entire computer fixed the problem.

Used the plugin hundreds of times with previous Sonar releases and never seen that before.

i just tried jamstix (latest) in platinum (latest) and put it in the multidock without issue. don't use jamstix often, the learning curve put me off, but that was my experience from just trying it fwiw

In the short time I've had to use 2017.02 I noticed a new and unwanted behaviour:

The audio will pause briefly at certain points in the song; almost sounds like an old vinyl record skipping a groove.

It occurred a few times in the project and it *appeared* to occur at the start of my dummy midi clips that I use as marker sections of the song I'm working on.

Anyone else notice this brief pause/skip behaviour?

It somehow fixed the plugin manager for Sonar 8.53 so I'm happy.

Bricked by 23.2.0.45

Hello everyone...

I asked for Cakewalk help 8 days ago.
No response so far...

Case number 341357:
Hi... Remember me? Did you guys forget again about lifetime licenses and offline activation? I installed 23.2.0.45 and am now in Demo mode, can't save! So help! I made a new activation request file, and will try it now. But this isn't supposed to be the way this works, is it? Did you change something while I wasn't looking?

Additional details:
OK, very odd action upon submit of newly generated activation file:
It brought up my local Notepad app! Open or save?
SO -- and I know this makes no sense at all -- I "Saved".
Looked like something happened... maybe.
Curious... did the activation file xxxxxx_2014xxxxxxxxxx.crq
with contents: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
[x's in this post as placeholders!]

Actually make it to you?
Or is that just a bit too magical?

OK, additional strangeness:
Help About shows correct build: 23.2.0.45
New Features shows build 22.11.0! WTF?

Previous updates have worked as expected.
Any of you experts on the forum have a clue as to what is happening here?

that is a common component between versions, isn't it?
