I've searched for Home Studio online documentation but have not been able to find it.
Can anyone provide a link to the online documentation?

Hi. As far as I understand, the same applies to HS as it does to the other SONAR versions.
I found this when searching for documentation for HS.
https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=MixStrip.01.html
It is under the "Documentation, SONAR".
Hope it helps.
All the best.

It's supposed to be the same as the Sonar documentation as there are notes telling which versions the information applies to, but that's not always the case.

It's a bit of a PITA as you are left on your own to figure out from the full version documentation what is there and what is not. The more I use HS the more I find features that are not there. Example, we all know there are many feature in Sonar like Audio Snap that open with keystrokes. I tried them all and nothing opens because it's none existent. There isn't even a Events list or a Synth Rack.
Sonars documentation is 3x more info than you need for HS. I'm fine with that being a user of both, but I can see this would be a confusing mess for a first time user trying to sort things out.
That said, I can see why it is what it is. It would take the person given the task a long time to either write from scratch or delete un-needed info to make a manual for HS. For $40 I look at it as, your on your own buddy, If you don't like it, upgrade and then you have full support. HS is still a bargain for a basic DAW and it is rock solid which is why I bought it for live performance..sorry, I just don't feel I could trust the full version for that.

That's one way of looking at it, but I would submit that if Sonar Home Studio is supposed to be an introduction to the world of Sonar, the confusing documentation makes a poor first impression. Many of Cakewalk's competitors offer their intro versions at a similar or cheaper price point via sales and/or coupons.

Perhaps they should index the documentation according to versions as well?
Would make it a lot easier to find info for the different products / versions, without having to look for signs that indicates which version things applies to.

Zragg,
Thank you for your responses.  I've marked your initial response as "Helpful".  I did not mark as "Answered" because I hope online documentation that is specific to Home Studio is available or will be available in the near future.

telecharge and Cactus Music,
Thanks to both of you for your responses.

Cakewalk Home Studio Product Manager,
Will you verify if Home Studio specific online documentation is, or soon will be available?

As this is a peer to peer forum there's no way we would know what Cakewalk have in mind.

With the way the online manual is at present I can't see it changing. It has to be updated monthly And that isn't always done besides the entry at the beginning that refers specifically to the new release features.

Why not put in a feature request as making a mention here does not get any Cakewalk attention regarding the changes that you'd like to see.

Hi Mike,

Cakewalk has a documentation department.  I would think one part of the job description would be to ensure that new content matches the appropriate edition(s) named in the beginning of a section.  If not it should be, if so then when mistakes are made and identified, correct them.

I'd love to put in a feature request but the Features & Ideas forum section has been locked since December, 2016.  The last Features & Ideas post says the section has moved to the Bakery.  I have been unable to post in the Bakery because none of the predetermined posting tags match the intent of my post and a post must have tags.  So I'm kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I do not know if Home Studio receives monthly updates.  If it does not then it would seem appropriate to separate Home Studio online documentation from the other Sonar products that do receive updates just to avoid the kinds of mistakes you mentioned.

Hey, Jim. There's a tag in the Bakery for SONAR-Home-Studio.

scook told me to feel free to write up a ticket for any documentation errors, but I'm not sure if he meant to send an email to customer service or create a problem report. Maybe he'll chime in here.

Those are your options AFAIK.
