The bakery's was never created as a replacement for these forums. these forums are way to valuable to simply 86 them.

The bakery was created as a solution to find support and get user feedback.
However, Its difficult to use. but that's only my opinion.

Biggest issue to me:
-navigation. its hard to find what your looking for.
-The tagging system. in order to post something you need to have a tag which some don't appear to exist.

It does appear to me there's no movement/fanfare there at the moment. The most voted Idea, Expand / Collapse Track Folders in Console View has yet to appear in the What's New - Upcoming Updates section, or The Bakers haven't given any indication this will be implemented.
Noted, that only very major features would be shown there, but the Idea suggested above seems to be quite old now.
Does voting truly make a difference with The Bakers, or will they still cherry-pick ideas?

Don't feel bad......I don't even know how to get to it........

I found it once and wished I hadn't, so consider yourself fortunate...

The only way I can find it is to Google or Bing it, I honestly can't see how to get to it from the Cakewalk site. Shouldn't it be in the dropdowns under 'Community' or 'Support'? I must be stoopidish

Yeah, I have no clue.  We just know they're listening.  The show expand/collapse folders in Console View just seems like it would be so easy to do.  Maybe they have a more complicated plan.

Many of us have the same ideas being exposed to other daws, but sifting through The Bakery is just ridiculously tedious.

It would be great if CW would at least lest us sort by date or ranked  ideas by up/down votes.

Right now it just looks and feels messy.

As a developer myself I use a site called StackOverflow that offers a similar interface with votes and tags. It works really well for the development community and I can see why something like this might appeal to Cakewalk.

My issues with it are mainly:
- I can't vote (tried many browsers)
- I can't tag (ditto)
- I find it hard to read (orange/white)

StackOverflow works because
- it's used by a massive number of developers
- developers understand this kind of techie/geeky interface

I think the forum style of gathering ideas lends itself better to the non-tech community. My advice would be for us to return to the way it was, but have items cherry picked into the bakery for voting only (with an easy link from the forum to the bakery). That way you get the best of both worlds perhaps.

EDITED: typos that weren't typos but where my spell-checker knew better (incorrectly)

Good idea. Maybe post it as a Feature Request in the Ideas area of The Bakery.

A lot of the bakery's problems for me are asthetic.  I tend to do my forum browsing in studio breaks on an android tablet. From this perspective, a thread list consisting of a tiny orange font with small line spacing and huge margins on a white background = not a particularly pleasing browsing experience to say the least.

It seems to be change for its own sake, as the recording of feature requests and problem reports was not an issue for users on the old system. The 'single point of failure' if there was one appeared to be getting someone from Cakewalk to read and respond to them.

I must agree with this, and I think for the bakery to really work effectively, there must be at least one Cakewalk employee regularly (daily, weekly . . . ?) responding and interacting in the bakery to give visitors a sense that they are truly connecting to the Cakewalk development team (if that is even the intention of this mysterious bakery ?) . . . since it currently seems to be a bunch of data with very little updating or moving ahead occurring there . . . boredom begets indifference.
