Thinking about assembling a new PC in the new year. Does anyone have any experience of these at all?

Assembling? If you mean putting a kit together, then I guess that is assembling, but the advantage of assembling a desktop is the ability to choose components. These machines generally have no room for internal expansion--think laptop without the portability.

Yep... with all the same limitations of a typical laptop.

Everyone is always entitled to do what they want with PC builds but I have to encourage you to check with Jim Roseberry first before you make a commitment elsewhere.
The machine he built for me is outstanding! It is dead quiet, super fast, has great components and it was all well thought out for a DAW.
You should just call him and let him know what you are looking for. He can be very helpful either way.

I've assembled several computers in the past and thought that this might be a simple, space saving alternative. If it's going to be no better than a laptop I will think again before making the jump.
Thanks to all.
