I would like to use more then one set of audio monitors with a switch to change from set to set. also have both on at the same time if possible. I have always used analog mixers to do this but this can be deceptive.  so anyone know what it's called and maybe a few good ones to use?

I got a switch box from Hosa. Because the Quad Capture's lone output knob controls the levels of both the Main Outs and Phones, I needed a way to kill the Monitors instead of turning off their power. The QC Main Outs go into the box, which has a knob to select one of its three output pairs. I only have one set of Monitors though, and since Outs 2&3 on the Hosa are empty I just select Out 1 to hear my Monitors and Out 2 not to.

If your audio interface (assuming you use one) has multiple line outputs they can usually be configured as additional monitor outputs in the interface's software. Or outputs to anything, really.

recommend the mackie big knob if you want to send your primary outs to a box you can easily configure for a variety of situations... i've used one for many years.

The big knob DOES color the audio, I have one and its documented out here on the web,
my ears are not golden enough to discern the colorization, but if your going for pristine look at Dangerous Music but be prepared to mortgage your first born
