Hello all.
I'm using cakewalk platinum.
I'm looking at purchasing either Motu's 828mk3 hybrid, 896mk3 hybrid or Presonus 192 studio. Any thoughts on these? Really want to know if anyone uses the Presonus, with cakewalk platinum. I
It has USB 3.0

Any other ideas?

Thanks.

Motu is above the Presonus as far as good drivers go. They are on my top two picks. Motu and RME.
USB 3 doesn't really make a difference with audio streaming.
It does matter if you own a Laptop that doesn't have one or the other.

( this belongs in Hardware sub forum by the way)

Hi. I would recommend RME with all my heart. I have the Ucx, use it over USB (2), and I am very pleased with it. It is a set and forget kind of Interface. It just works  Low latency as well.
RME is well known for very good drivers, and support products that are long gone. Their driver update interval is also good.
All the best.

I have a Presonus and have 2 issues:

1. Drivers. Old ones had some problem, I forget the details,
and with the new ones ASIO and Sonar didn't live together happily so I was forced down to WDM.
(but the Presonus ASIO drivers were fine with other DAWs and audio software...)
There were 2 or maybe 3 updates and that was it.

2. The Input/VSL(Computer) Mix knob. The "panning law" (if you can call it that) is designed so that it is louder in the middle, meaning constant compensation adjustments are needed on the main volume knob.

I don't use it.

I purchased the 192 based on the usb 3 connection thinking it would improve RTL and other additional features the unit offered. After about 8 months of owning it I finally had some time to really dig in and made some discoveries. If you do live recordings or straight audio projects this is a great unit. It sounds great and has a rich tone. However if you use virtual instruments in my experience this is not the interface to purchase. This sucks for me as I use virtual instruments a lot. With the use of any virtual instruments my rtl went from 9ms (audio only project) all the way up to 30ms. This was due to if I didn't up the buffer I would hear a ton of pops and crackles. I am in the process of doing a return in hopes it was a defective unit but not sold on it. I also have a focusrite 6i6 that I have had no issues with and can run a solid 8 to 9ms RTL. I would like to note it does seem to be on a case by case basis so this was just my experience.

My apologies for possibly putting this in the wrong forum. The reason I put it here was the fact that Presonus comes with its own DAW, Studio One. So I was also curious how other Platinum users dealt with the Presonus and Platinum.

Oh, and I am using a laptop by the way. Sony Vaio i7 quad core/8 thread, 7200 rpm, 8gb ram,
AND USB 3.0 as well as firewire. That's why I was thinking on the Presonus since it carries the USB 3.0

Thank you for your opinions, anyway.

USB 2 will not be the bottleneck in an Audio Interface with a "normal" amount of inputs.
Not noticeable latency (RTL) difference either, in my opinion. (sub 10 ms is good enough for me)

I'd recommend anything RME.  I have a UFX and the drivers have always been solid.
