• SONAR
  • default buss when adding a synth via synth rack

Here's a mild annoyance - when I add a new synth via the synth rack (the red + sign) it chooses the first buss (in alphabetical order I think) rather than my "main" buss (which all the other busses feed in to) - to attach the synth output to.

Does anyone know if there is a way to set the default buss that a new synth will attach to?
I guess I could use the "add track" wizard from the track View - but it's quicker from the synth rack.
I have templates for a lot of synths (which have everything connecting to the right place) but sometimes you just want to add a quick synth in - and I always forget that it's not connected to the right buss.

Thanks

You can right click on a buss and set it as a default buss but it will default for everything, not just soft synths.

THANK YOU gustabo!
I've only been using SONAR since it came out (And Cakewalk Pro Audio for years before that) so I never noticed this.

When I started using Andrew Scheps' rear bus method, I started going through a lot of existing projects and adding additional bussing, noticed the "set as default bus" option and thought, "didn't notice that before, hmmmm"

I love the rear bus method, imo, gives a mix a 3d dimension.
