So annoying!  Suddenly Sonar will open to the splash page and freeze.  I tried opening in safe mode to no avail.  Alas I am dispirited by my Sonar misfortunes, they add up after awhile.

Windows just updated on Tuesday which may account for this.  Restore?

When I do the safe mode, a dialogue comes up that says *personalization not complete, Sonar may not work properly*  (duh)

I wouldn't take that personally, though Personalization shouldn't keep it from opening unless it's still in the process of personalizing. There's an off chance Sonar or some part of it is still running in the background after closing it. I check Task Manager and "stop" any Sonar stuff from running, then try again.

Tried that.  So this nonsense (I think) is related to my vrm box (maybe.)  Does VRM only work at single fixed sample rate or can I change it?  The other thing I've done since yesterday is rooted my tablet (on the same network).  I wonder if there's some hokey-pokey with that.  The third thing that's happened is I did the windows upgrade, as Lynn said.  But no one else is having problemos.

Try running Sonar as administrator if you aren't already - 
I've seen that fix some mysterious issues with other applications.

Yup - Sample Rate mismatch is a killer.
 
I set it long ago to 48 k and never ever change it for projects.
