All menus should be completely customizable to contain anything you want, and nothing you don't.

Support would go insane. "Ok, click on the Insert menu, and select 'Multiple Tracks'..." [pause] "Well then, what does your Insert menu show?" [pause] "Just out of curiosity, is there are reason why you put the Plug-In Manager there?"

Then again, maybe "All menus should be completely customizable to contain anything you want, and nothing you don't" will fit into the ethos of Lenses at some point.

Point taken, but proven void in other applications. ;)  I would personally find user customizable menus much more useful than Lenses.  I still haven't figured what Lenses are supposed to be good for!!  LOL

IMHO all keyboard commands and shortcuts need to be banished forever, or at least be an option with a mouse or controller GUI only as an alternative ...

This is probably an argument for the mouse/keyboard vs. the XBox game pad controls, LOL!  The keyboard offers a multitude more commands, but you do need a template to keep up with all of them!  I do believe there is an advantage to either method, depending on your workflow.

Why not have a choice?

just out of curiosity, do you use keyboard shortcuts (CNTRL+C / CNTRL+V / Delete key) ?
If you do then why is there a bigger need to see these ?
Not questioning your argument just trying to understand more why ?

While CtrlC/CtrlV are easy to do with the left hand (and still, it's an effort), hitting Del requires me to either slightly lean over to the right to reach it with my left hand or moving my right hand form the mouse to the keyboard. Not very ergonomic...

Here's my advise:

Use the Custom module. I use it all the time. Its a great place for Copy, Paste and Delete.
that's what it was created for. I use it for bounce to clips, save project, a lot of things.
Give it a try and tell me what you think.
Good luck man.

I'm with the keyboard shortcut crowd. I can't remember the last time I used a context menu for cut/copy/paste. So I would want those in side menus to avoid making the context menu any longer/cluttered than it is now. Same with the View options.

You can always put them in the Custom section of the control and then they're only one click away...better than using a context menu.

Thanks, I've already done that. Should've thought about it earlier.

While it helps, it's not ideal. Why? Because it forces me to navigate away from the clip I'm working on, or the notes in PRV.

Those few options should be available at hand after hitting RMB, I'll keep repeating it. They are there in every other program I use, like OpenOffice for example.

I would actually love to have a right-click menu like the small middle-click one for tools. As it is now, the right-click one is a cluttered mess with many options that shouldn't be there at all.

The shortcuts really are the best option here.
Its tough for Sonar to understand everyone's needs and please us all.
what might be good for windows explorer, open office, exc, sometimes is not in DAW's.

There are a few options. Hope you find one of them

I'm using the custom module in the toolbar for my often used commands. It makes life much easier. But I will say that when I'm doing editing and want to delete precisely, I like to keep my eyes on the track.
