  • Rapture Pro Bug? Pitch bend wheel modulates Pitch Trckaing Element 1 (CWBRN-32897) [solved

Kamikaze
Step 1. Open Sonar's Blank Project
Step 2. Add Rapture Pro (Simple Instrument track)
Step 3. Open Rapture's GUI and initialise a program.
Step 4. Open Element 1
Step 5. Move the pitch bend wheel

Result - 'Pitch Tracking' is modulated by pitch end data.

My understanding is Pitch tracking is for setting the amount the oscillator tracks the keyboard range. Zero is no change in pitch, 100 is normal on semi tone change in pitch for each semitone up or down the keyboard. Double clicking sets this to 100. When I move my modulation wheel, it modulates the tracking, but why would it.

I've just noticed it only seems to effect element 1, 2 to 6 are cool. So work around, use Element 1 for samples only.

Just found that it effects samples too, so any programs I use, if they have something in Element 1 it's need to be switched of and moved to another Element.

Anyone willing to try, it's quick and easy. If you have a program open, miss all the steps, just look at Element one and move the pitch bend wheel, look at Pitch Tracking. Does it move, it shouldn't.

OK, I got a message from Cakewalk forums that Rob T Bone moved.

Makes no sense to me at all, no explanation.

Why was a problem report about Rapture moved to Sonar?

Now in calewalk instruments. At least that makes some sense. I'm guessing just a blunder.

Can anyone try to reproduce the above please

Sorry - first of all I goofed by moving it to Sonar, rather than Instruments.  DOH! sorry.

Then, I had typed an explanation as to why it was being moved, and that explanation seems to have vanished,

I moved it just until it gets verified by one or more additional folks as being a bug, and then it would get moved to the Problem Reports forum for the developers to see and respond to it.

The basic idea is to keep the Problem Reports forum clear of things that are still being researched, to help the developers see as clean a list of confirmed bugs as possible, which helps them organize their time and other resources more efficiently - ultimately resulting in quicker resolution and maintenance releases.

I had one of those senior moments that was quickly caught by both you and by scook, and the issue was resolved and the thread is in its currently proper place in the Software forum, pending confirmation as a bug, etc.....

Please forgive me for my boo boo - I try to get it all right, but don't always get it - DOH! :)

Fair, I couldn't make any sense at first, then moved to Instruments and I thought it being in Sonar I had made up, but the default email verified. When I posted I did wonder  if I should have done so here, but more because of  comment form the Cakewalk crew about containing them after the release, rather than a Protocol for that section

Can someone check this, just look at element one and move you pitch bend wheel, does Tracking move with it?

Tried last night with just sending pitchbend data from Sonar, to rule out my midi controller, and had the same effect

Bump
Because every time I go away for a few hours, this drops out of view and would take no time for someone to check for me.
