Hey there

I recently was forced to switch from my Presonus StudioLive FireWire mixer to M-Audio Ultra 8R. I do not know if M-Audio can run in 24 bit, and I hope it can. BUT I noted that in Transport, it shows 16 bit 44.1, and in Preferences under Driver settings, it shows Audio Driver Bit depth 24 and it is grayed out. It does not allow me to change it to anything. I don't see bit depth settings in M-Audio control panel. Thank you.

Yep, it shows 24-bit/96kHz professional audio on all I/O on guitar center's spec page.

Thank you. What genius decided to make it invisible until Advanced mode activated?
Also I noted this: Render Bit Depth. Use this field to choose the bit depth that audio processing (freezing, bouncing, applying effects) will use. The default value of 32 allows virtually lossless processing.

I use a lot of software synths. I did not know it was rendering it at 32 bit. Should I leave it at 32 or change to 24?
Thank you.

Leave it at 32.  That gets the best results.
