In the X series, Channel Tools was bundled with Studio and Producer see http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR%20X3&language=3&help=Comparison.html

While I have not seen the Platinum trial version, I would be surprised if it included Channel Tools because it is a VST plug-in that is not locked to the DAW. AFAIK, the Platinum trial version contains a collection of PC modules and DX plug-ins. It does not contain all the plug-ins bundled with the full product.

Gentlemen, I guess, this is one of the most professional and business-like forum I ever visited. Every member gave me grounds to correct the situation (special thanks to telecharge, though!).
- Yes, I have X3 as a Home version and X3 Producer in the studio, hence NO bundled Channel Tools in X3!
- To a certain degree it's true about VST scan path (see below)
- A1 Studio Stereo Control fulfills my needs completely. Interesting that x64 version did not show up, only x32 (makes no difference). For that I had to include C:\Program Files (x86)\Vstplugins into the scan path.
I guess, the matter is closed!
Many thanks to everybody helping me to resolve the issue!

Totally agreed. I have visited (am a member) of many forums on the Interwebs and I have to say, this is the best one, bar none. There's not a forum anywhere that has quicker responses, faster problem solvers and multiple users adding input.

I credit the diverse talents of the many different users.
For example, some are experts in the Midi field, some are experts in the mixing stages, mastering, exc.
This is a perfect storm for all walks of musicians, producers and engineers.

For the record I have X3 Producer (32-bit) installed, and Channel Tools (32-bit) is included.  I also have Platinum (64-bit) installed, and Channel Tools (64-bit) was included there as well.

If I ever need to recover a plugin that was included with Sonar X3 (or earlier), all I need to do is run the old Sonar standalone installer again in advanced mode, selecting only the plugins I wish to add.  Leave the program files and the rest un-selected, and you will only install the selected plugins.  No need to re-install an old version of Sonar.
