I am just learning to use Music creator and have a problem with some notes not playing after recording.  
I am using the Cakewalk sound center.  The note events are all there in the record window but a large amount of them don't sound on playback.

Try doubling the buffer size in "MIDI buffers...prepare using xxx ms buffers". That's the most common cure for randomly skipped MIDI-notes.
Also, many VST instruments which imitate real instruments do not have a sample or sound to trigger on all keys, if the real instruments don't. I assume it's not the case now because I guess you did hear the sounds when you recorded the stuff.
