Well I'm totally confused now.
Gibson Les Paul Gold Top started working again after I installed the recent update in CCC "Anderton collection" in Sonar Platinum.
Huh? Shouldn't the update be in Gibson Content Pack Vol 4?

I now have 3 working copies in various places.. . But at least I can clean it up OK .
 
 
Rapture Pro shows 2.0.0.480. Is this an updated version or is this the original?

(Also in Dimension Pro legacy bank the sounds under "Digital Sound Factory Symphonic" bank type are still playing nothing sadly, so I assume just Gibson Gold Top was fixed).

I would say the core Rapture Pro remains unchanged.  It's only the "Gibson Les Paul Gold Top" content that was updated.  As to why it was not in an "Gibson Content Pack Vol 4" update, only the bakers know.  Maybe it's because the Contact Pack 4 are patches specifically made for RP where as "Gibson Les Paul Gold Top" was released before RP was.

I think it got sneaked into the Anderton update - which is nothing to do with Gold Top.
I'm glad it's fixed but if that's the case the method of delivery is not particularly professional, unless I've completely missed something.

And I don't see any release notes for this fix.

I would be happy with a list of version numbers and release dates.  Since I don't use ccc it's pain the way it is now

Correct, but I guess CW liked them enough to include them with Rapture Pro.
